It turns out that single-car entry to a multi-car garage is not that new to the Hill Section (see News blog post from June 1 – “New Hill Section Homes Minimize Garage Access”). This custom home at 526 John Street in the Hill Section is an earlier example of the hidden parking concept. The home was designed by Architect Patrick Killen and built in 1992. Its single-car entry provides access to underground parking for six cars. The owner said at that time there was one other Manhattan Beach home with a similar parking solution, but it did not have a door to the parking garage.

This home is currently for sale (listing courtesy of Paul Fasoli, Paradise Realtors), offered at $3,795,000. It is open for viewing Sunday, June 6 from noon to 4 pm – see it if you can. The home definitely has a circular theme going and some wonderful ocean views. It has a Hollywood feel and looks like something you might see on television. Oh wait, it was used for filming CSI: Miami.
